The first industrial revolution changed the world
utterly, from one of farms to one of factories. A second, postindustrial
revolution is taking place even now, and the bywords are global,
information, and innovation. In the new world of international business,
executives must brace for change that will be extraordinarily dramatic and
profound. Futurist and leadership consultant Jim Crupi has chosen for
himself the role of "distant early warning device" to spot these
changes and describe them while they are still just "blips on the
screen." Vision #1The leadership of just about everything will roll
over.
One effect of gridlock is that, with little
happening at the central level, national politicians are fading in
significance. Replacing them are business entrepreneurs and politicians at
the local level. America is just emerging from a period of leadership
vacuum, away from the World war II generation and toward the Vietnam
generation and beyond.
