Brain Tumor Survivor's Guide to the Internet(Reprinted without the permission of the American Brain Tumor Association, which created this very helpful list, but I'm hoping they won't mind)
Announcing: The Brain Tumor Review
When I first logged onto the listserv and mentioned I was a writer and
editor, I got several letters from other folks interested in writing about
the experiences we are all having.
So, I thought, how hard could it be to create an online
magazine/anthology of writings having to do with the bt experience?
I have a website, and a room where I currently discuss my bt
adventures. I am thinking of creating a 5-6 room magazine about surviving bts, with a
common table of contents.
You guys send me your writings, (ideally already in HTML, but I am
also adept at English), and I put 'em up. We could publish chapters of:
* original poems
One rule I would like to suggest is that each piece submitted be seen as a
GIFT of some kind -- something that can help someone else in some way.
that will make it better, I think, than just raw self-expression or
showing off.
Only other rule: after I hit 10,000 words, the project is over.
Otherwise, it goes on forever and I drop dead fromn exhaustion.
I'll publish everything, but I would rather get stuff that connects with
other people.
Not a rule, but a suggestion: nice and short is better than way long.
I can't tell how quick I'll be, and I won't promise to write personal
notes to everyone -- cuz I'm trying to preserve the notion that I still
have a life outside the realm of bts.
But it could be fun, interesting, revealing, worthwhile.

On January 17th, 1999 I experienced an event inside my head -- a very powerful migraine headache. I have been diagnosed as having a brain tumor called a meningioma. The headache was a powerful stroke. And the tumor has made me epileptic. My hope is to write an account of experiences and observations. Maybe it will help other people with the same problem, or keep their spirits up during the dark times.
